How to Block a Number on a Nokia 5300?

I am so sick and tired of this. My ex is driving my insane. We are on terrible term and he think it’s funny to mess with my life. Does anyone know how to block certain numbers or block restricted call as WHOLE on this cell phone? Please don’t ask me to contact my carrier or service provider unless THAT is the case. I’m really hoping for a way out because many important places has my number and it is a hassle to change it.

Unfortunately even if you block your evil ex’s work number, cell phone number and home number, he may be able to block caller ID on his phone, which means your phone may not be able to tell who he is and his phone would then just ring through. I’m sorry, but in a case like this your best option is to change your phone number. Note that if you do change your phone number, don’t call him from your cell phone because you will be giving him your new number (unless you block caller ID on your phone, which means no one else you call will know it is you either!).

That being said, because the Nokia 5300 is not a “smart” phone, it does not have call blocking features built into the phone and I don’t think you can get 3rd party software for your phone that does this (I looked). I’m sorry to say that most likely the only way to block a number with this phone is to call your service provider – there may be a nominal monthly fee for this service and some service providers won’t do this at all. Alternatively, you could get yourself a “smart” phone that has call blocking built in or which works with some of the 3rd party software available.

Lastly, you can set your phone not to ring when receiving a phone call from any of your ex’s phone numbers – in which case you would only have to deal with deleting his voice mails.

I wish I had a better answer for you.
