Nokia n97 mini phone, are maps free?

I have a Nokia N97 mini phone and I was wondering, are the maps/navigator free to use or do you have to pay? When it says to search on online for something or connect to anything online, I never do, I always make the application search for locations offline which still works. Do you get charged fees if you want to navigate but don’t search online? By the way, the application and maps were pre-installed on my phone, I never installed anything.

YES! Maps are free! Go online and download from your PC from nokia’s website and update the maps.

And if you go online, then it’ll only cost the operator fee for using internet access.

Otherwise navigation is completely free!
