NOKIA 5310 Phone Not working?

Hi,
I recently returned from US and brought my Nokai 5310 after removing the SIM Lock from Tmobile. I am not sure as to why the phone would not recognise the Airtel Sim in it. Is there some modification that I need to make to make the phone working. However I would like to also mention that when I first inserted the SIM it did work but then I moved out of range and would never identfy the network. I manually also tried serchng the network and it does catch show airtel in the manual search but then when I try to connect it it would just not connect. I have restarted and reset to factory settings but still it would not work…Any help would be highly appreciated.
