It now has touch even more responsive.  It now has a slide to Unlock during call.  It has improved stability.  Now, it has new contact & music widget.  The main menu, application menu, and browser do not have kinetic scrolling.  Your Nokia 5800 has home screen similar to that of Nokia 5530.  Your new Nokia 5800 has removed alphanumeric keypad in its landscape version.  Now the phone alphanumeric portrait changes to full qwerty keyboard alphabets when you turn the phone.   It comes with a new screen alarm, but uses it only when the screen is locked.

When the screen is locked, it now has new screen for incoming call.  Your new Nokia 5800 comes installed with Ovi Contacts.  There is a new icon for ‘Phone Switch’ in the settings menu.

Many users while updating their Nokia 5800 to V40.0.005 have faced problems with messaging.  For instance, a user complained in a popular information technology forum that the full screen qwerty keyboard had gone once he updated to the latest.  He had tried to restart it many times but the problem was still there.
